This Correx Tension gauge is a precision instrument made by Haag-Streit and was ideal for measuring and calibrating the pressure or power to actuate fine mechanisms and spring tensions of: switches and relays; electric contacts; communication instruments; controls with adjustable friction torque; automotive parts, etc. This Correx's gauge provides readings in units of grams and in the range of ±15 gram. Haag-Streit Company was founded in the city of Bern, Switzerland, in 1858 by F. Hermann and H. Studer. Manufacturing the most accurate mechanical instrument used to measure and calibrate pressure or force.

1. Preparation: Hold the gauge by its main body. Ensure the small metal probe is clean and free from debris.
2. Contact the Object: Gently press the probe tip against the object you are measuring (e.g., a spring or relay contact).
3. Apply Force at a Right Angle: Apply force slowly and steadily, ensuring the probe remains at a right angle (90 degrees) to the object's surface. This is critical for accurate readings; applying force at an angle will result in measurement errors.
4. Read the Measurement:
   • Peak Reading: Continue applying force until the maximum point is reached or the desired action (e.g., a relay clicking) occurs. The main needle on the dial will move and indicate the tension value.
   • Tracking Mode: For continuous measurement, simply read the current tension directly from the dial as you apply force.
5. Release and Note: Release the pressure and note the measurement value indicated by the needle.
